UPCOMING EVENTS

We assist clients with sustainability, organic gardening, vegetable gardening, CSA support, native and ecological garden design, gardening classes, and sustainable farm planning in Bucks County, Montgomery County, and the Philadelphia area.

Want to learn about GROWING FOOD or creating a BACKYARD HOMESTEAD? Want to start a small horticultural or agricultural enterprise? Join us on an 114-acre organic horse farm in Bucks County, PA for the 2011 growing season with hands-on gardening & horticulture / small-scale agriculture education. Learn to grow organic & biodynamic vegetables, fruit, flowers, & herbs while experiencing the flow of the season. VIEW CLASS DETAILS

WHEN: Each workshop will take place the first Saturday of the month from 10 AM-4:00 PM (beginning March 6 and ending October 2) and will include a farm lunch. You will receive instruction, inspiration, and help to craft your own backyard homestead or small business.

TOPICS will include the ABCs of plants, starting your garden, propagation, choosing vegetable varieties, soil preparation and stewardship, greenhouse and hoophouse growing, culinary and medicinal herbs, floral design, garden design, pest and disease management, composting, cooking and tasting from the garden, seed-saving, using and caring for tools, and much more. A few local field trips will be included to broaden your knowledge.

COST: 8 workshops @ $100/per workshop (6 hours of instruction plus lunch). Total cost includes handouts, snacks, & delicious lunches = $800.
